Daily Look: Christian Siriano

I love this origami-inspired-metallic-dress from Christian Siriano's Fall 2009 Collection. Siriano was the winner of Bravo's Project Runway where he had the chance to show this brilliant collection at Bryant Park for NYC Fashion Week.

Daily Look: Lauren Conrad

A brunette-wigged Lauren Conrad steps out in Los Angeles while doing a photo shoot for Harper's Bazaar magazine and shopping at Marc Jacobs. I love the skinny ankle pant with this outfit because it allows you to concentrate on the amazing shoes.

Style Profile: Whitney Port

Whitney Port is largely known for co-staring alongside Lauren Conrad on MTVs hit reality show The Hills and her own branch off show, The City. Port, a Los Angeles native, graduated from USC and decided to persue a career in the fashion industry. She interned at Women's Wear Daily and Teen Vogue, before landing her first post-graduation job at People's Revolution. After working for the top fashion PR company she desided to take a job with Diane Von Furstenberg and make the transfer from LA to New York City. Her show, The City, has been documenting her new life in the fashion capital of the world. She also recently launched her own clothing line titled WhitneyEve. Although Whitney Port has celebrity-star status, she is also shines as a fashion icon. Two words best describe Ports style: eclectic and unique. Her style also has a touch of femininity with high waisted skirts, billowy tops, and summery dress. She often pairs various trends, designers, and personal wardrobe pieces to create a one-of-a-kind look.

Daily Look: Blake Lively

Blake Lively wore a backless white jersey dress with black chiffon insets to the The Swarovski Crystallized store opening in New York City. She styled the look with gladiator-inspired heels. The juxtaposition of the crisp-white dress and the industrial style studded heels make this look so chic.

Daily Look: Lauren Conrad

Lauren Conrad steps out in a feminine maxi-dress while promoting her new book--L.A. Candy--at a Barnes and Noble in Lake Grove, New York. She completes the look with metallic pumps, minimal jewelry, and flowing goddess-like locks. The detailing on the top part of the dress is modern and beautiful. The purple and white geometric print fabric is an excellent choice for summer. I love this look!

Both fashion icons pair the fun-techno-printed frock with a mens-wear inspired blazer. Kate Moss wears her creation out in NYC for the British chain's Manhattan flagship store, while Lauren Conrad promotes her book L.A. Candy in NYC.

The Super Model

I love this Vogue cover: It is from the September 2004 Magazine where 9 models appeared on the cover dubbing it "the comeback of the model as the face of fashion." Vogue had previously featured celebrities on its cover until the most important issue of the year came out that pushed models to the forefront of the industry, once again. Cover girls include Gisele Bundchen, Daria Werbowy, Natalia Vodianova, Isabeli Fontana, Karolina Kurkova, Liya Kibede, Hana Soukupova, Gemma Ward and Karen Elson. These women are the the top models in the industry right now but hardly anyone outside of the industry knows their names. Sally Singer, the Fashion and News Director of Vogue Magazine who wrote the article in Vogue explains: “In this post-supermodel, post-superdesigner world, the very top people in fashion have their lives, go to work and go home. It’s cooler to walk down the street and have only the people who should know you know you. It makes you part of this supercool club."
Here is a really interesting article about models vs. celebrities as the face of fashion on MSNBC's Website by the Associated Press: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/default.aspx/id/5736838

Daily Look: Rachel Bilson

Rachel Bilson wore a ruched green silk dress by Bally--creative director Brian Atwood--to 2009 Costume Institute gala in NYC. She styled the look with Bally python pumps, a Bally gold clutch, and Cartier diamonds.
